Bucks County Council AFL-CIO Endorses Fisher & Mack

Newtown, PA, June 24, 2019 – The Bucks County Council AFL-CIO, which represents over 6,350 union members in Bucks County, has endorsed John Mack and Dennis Fisher for the Newtown Township Supervisor positions in the upcoming general election on November 5, 2019.

“As a former Shop Steward of the Pennsylvania Social Services SEIU 668 for over a dozen years, I am very grateful for this honor from the hard-working people of Bucks County,” said Dennis Fisher.

“As a descendent of a Pennsylvania coal-mining immigrant family, I am very cognizant of the hard-earned benefits of union workers and am proud to be endorsed by the Council,” said John Mack.

“I wish you the best of luck in November,” said Tom Tosti, President of the Council in a June 19, 2019, letter to the candidates announcing the endorsement.

John Mack and Dennis Fisher are both incumbents on the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors. Both ran unopposed in the May 21, 2019, Democratic Party primary for the only two upcoming openings on the Township’s governing body.

Mack, a 24-year resident of Newtown Township, won a two-year seat in the 2017 election, drawing the most votes among all candidates running for three open positions on the board.

Fisher, a 27-year resident of Newtown Township, was appointed to the board in July 2018 to fill the remaining term of Democrat Jen Dix who moved with her family to New Hampshire.
